Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 May 2026

1. Who we are

Studyaura is operated by HYRE Talent Sourcing and Matching GmbH (“Studyaura”, “we”, “our”, “us”), a company registered in Germany.

  • Registered address: Warnerweg 13, 14052 Berlin, Germany
  • Commercial register: Amtsgericht Charlottenburg, HRB 43429
  • VAT ID: DE456128516
  • Managing directors: Max Willert, Luca Lallopizzi
  • Contact for privacy requests: support@hyreapps.com

This Privacy Policy applies to the Studyaura web application at studyaura.app and the Studyaura mobile application for iOS (collectively, the “Service”).

2. What information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Information you provide directly

  • Account information (email address, name if provided, password hash)
  • Study content you upload or generate (notes, PDFs, flashcards, mindmaps, MCQs, podcasts, videos)
  • Payment information (handled by Stripe — see Section 5; we do not store full card details)
  • Communications you send us (support requests, feedback)

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data (features used, screens viewed, actions taken, session duration, content created)
  • Device information (device model, operating system version, language, timezone, app version)
  • Identifiers (a user account ID, a device identifier, and — on iOS, with your permission — the Advertising Identifier (IDFA))
  • Diagnostic data (crash logs, performance metrics)
  • Approximate location derived from your IP address (country / region level)

Information from third parties

  • Advertising and attribution data from Meta (Facebook/Instagram) when you arrive at Studyaura through one of our ads — see Section 4.

3. How we use your information

We use the information described above to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
  • Create and authenticate your account
  • Generate the AI-powered learning content you request
  • Process subscription payments and prevent fraud
  • Send transactional emails (receipts, password resets, account notices)
  • Improve the Service through analytics and A/B testing
  • Measure the performance of our advertising and reach people likely to be interested in Studyaura
  • Communicate with you about updates, features, and offers (you can opt out of marketing emails at any time)
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Advertising, analytics, and tracking on the mobile app

Studyaura’s iOS app integrates the Meta (Facebook) SDK to measure the performance of our advertising campaigns on Facebook and Instagram and to help us reach users likely to benefit from Studyaura. We may also integrate the TikTok SDK in the future for the same purposes; if and when we do, this policy will be updated.

Through these integrations, the following may be shared with Meta (and, in the future, TikTok):

  • A device identifier (such as the IDFA, only if you grant permission via the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt)
  • App events (such as app install, app open, sign-up, trial start, subscription purchase)
  • A hashed version of your email address, used solely to match conversions back to ad campaigns

App Tracking Transparency (iOS): When you first open the Studyaura iOS app, iOS will ask whether you allow Studyaura to track your activity across other companies’ apps and websites. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track,” we will not share your IDFA or any other cross-app identifier with Meta or any advertising partner, and you will still be able to use Studyaura normally. You can change this choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

You can also learn more about how Meta processes this data in Meta’s Privacy Policy.

5. Third parties we share data with

We share limited data with the following service providers, each of which is contractually bound to use the data only on our behalf:

6. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons (typically up to 10 years for invoicing records under German law).

7. Your rights

If you are in the EEA, UK, or another jurisdiction with similar laws (such as California), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you

9. International transfers

We are based in Germany. Some of our service providers (e.g., Stripe, Mixpanel, Meta, Resend) are based in the United States or other countries outside the EEA. Where data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

10. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest for sensitive fields, and access controls on our backend systems. No system is 100% secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your information.

11. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when our practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated by email or via an in-app notice.
