Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 28, 2026

Introduction

Studyaura (“Studyaura,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides educational and study tools, including through our website and related applications. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it with third parties (including providers of artificial intelligence and analytics), and the choices you have. By using our services, you agree to this policy.

If you do not agree, please do not use our services. For questions, contact us using the details at the end of this policy.

Information we collect

  • Account and identity: such as email address, name, and authentication identifiers when you register or sign in.
  • Content you provide: study materials you upload or enter (for example, documents, text, or files used to generate summaries, quizzes, flashcards, videos, or other outputs).
  • Usage and device data: such as app or web events, feature usage, approximate location derived from IP, device type, operating system, and session information. Some of this is collected through analytics tools described below.
  • Payment information: subscription or payment transactions are processed by our payment provider; we do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
  • Support communications: information you send when you contact support.

Artificial intelligence and automated processing

Certain features use artificial intelligence to generate or transform content (for example: summaries, multiple-choice questions, flashcards, chat-style assistance, or other study aids). When you use those features, the relevant portions of your content and prompts may be sent to third-party AI infrastructure so the feature can run. Processing may occur on servers located in the United States or other countries where our subprocessors operate.

We use AI providers as processors to deliver the service you request. We do not sell your personal information to AI companies. Third-party AI services apply their own terms and privacy policies to how they handle API data; we recommend reviewing the current policies of those providers. Where commercially and technically feasible, we configure services to limit use of customer data to providing the requested output and in line with the provider’s standard API practices.

Outputs are generated automatically and may be inaccurate; you should verify important information. Do not submit highly sensitive information (such as health records, government ID numbers, or financial account details) unless you accept the risks of transmission to third-party systems described here.

Third-party services we use (and what we share)

We share data with service providers only as needed to operate Studyaura. The categories below are the main third parties that may receive or process personal data or content on our behalf. Their own privacy policies govern their practices beyond what we describe here.

  • Supabase (Supabase Inc.) — Backend infrastructure including database, authentication, file storage, and server-side functions. Your account data, user-generated content, and files may be stored and processed on Supabase systems.
  • OpenAI — AI models accessed via API for features that generate or transform study content. User prompts and relevant document or text excerpts may be transmitted to OpenAI to produce outputs.
  • Google (Firebase) — We use Google Firebase services such as Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Remote Config for product analytics, experimentation, and feature configuration. Google may collect identifiers and usage data as described in Google’s policies. Firebase is operated by Google LLC.
  • Stripe — Payment processing for subscriptions and purchases. Stripe receives payment and billing-related information necessary to complete transactions.

We may also use additional subprocessors for email delivery, security, logging, or error monitoring. If we engage a new category of vendor that materially changes how personal data is shared, we will update this policy or notify you as required by law.

How we use your information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve our services and AI-powered features.
  • To authenticate you, sync your content across devices, and enforce subscription or usage limits.
  • To analyze usage and product performance (including through analytics tools above).
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • To communicate with you about the service, security, or policy updates.
  • To detect abuse, fraud, or violations of our terms.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

Legal bases (EEA/UK users)

Where applicable, we rely on performance of a contract, legitimate interests (such as improving and securing the service), consent where required (for example non-essential cookies or certain marketing), and legal obligation.

Retention

We retain information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account subject to legal and technical constraints; some information may remain in backups for a limited period.

International transfers

We are based in the United States and may process data in the U.S. and other countries. If we transfer personal data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses where required.

Children

Our services are not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA. To exercise rights, contact us below. You may also opt out of certain analytics via your device or browser settings where available.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance unless applicable law requires additional consent.
